In Which We Keep Looking Forward

Kegedonce Press loves working with new authors. There’s something special about guiding a first book into print, and for the author, there can be no better feeling than breaking through into the publishing world. This year, we are proud to announce the début of author/illustrator Kayla Williams, from Happy Valley, Labrador. Kayla’s thrilling adventure story, Aurora’s Journey, comes out with us in August of this year and we couldn’t be more excited.

Aurora’s Journey is the story of a young Inuk girl who gets separated from her family while on a hunting trip. She must rely on her wits to survive the harsh Arctic conditions – but she must also rely on the North itself, and trust in her ability to live as part of the world around her, at one with the creatures and elements. Her success becomes an inspiration to the members of her community.

This book will be sure to keep young and middle readers riveted. It will feature ~10 full colour illustrations by the author. Look for Aurora’s Journey to ship in early August!
