Kegedonce Press Manuscript Submissions Guidelines

Kegedonce Press is an Indigenous owned and operated publishing company based at Neyaashiinigmiing and Owen Sound, Ontario. We seek manuscripts from Indigenous authors in Canada in the following categories:


Please read the following guidelines carefully. 

Submissions must include the following:

  • A synopsis of your manuscript. The synopsis must be a stand-alone item, no longer than one page, with the title of the manuscript at the top. Please include mention of the book’s genre and/or category as well as your intended audience. If submitting a children’s or young adult title, include an age range. 
  • Length of the full manuscript (word count or number of pages).
  • A sample from the manuscript of up to four chapters, not exceeding 20 pages
  • A cover letter and bio including details of your First Nation, Métis or Inuit affiliation and full contact information such as address, phone number and email address (if available). If you have any published or forthcoming works, please list the publication dates and publisher.

If any of these items or details are not included with your submission, your manuscript will not be reviewed.

Manuscripts submitted on disk will not be accepted. 

Please do not send original copies because they may not be returned

Due to the number of manuscripts we receive, we do not provide editorial comment unless we feel that a manuscript is publishable. Please note that Kegedonce Press, unfortunately, does not respond to queries about the status of unsolicited manuscripts. We will contact you only if we wish to publish your manuscript.
