The team at Kegedonce Press deeply mourns the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Christy Telford who began her journey on July 23,2026.
Christy joined the press in the winter of 2013, bringing with her a wealth of expertise and a lifetime of dedication to financial and artistic administration. As our Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper, Christy was the backbone of our day-to-day operations, seamlessly blending her talents across financial institutions into the world of publishing. Her warmth, commitment, and strength left an indelible mark on our organization and the broader community in Owen Sound. She will be profoundly missed by the authors, creators, and colleagues whose lives she touched.
Christy’s career spanned various financial and artistic sectors—including her valued time with the Tom Thomson Art Gallery—but it was her human connection that truly defined her. She was a passionate reader, an advocate, and a mentor who lived a life of significant service. Christy possessed a profound love for literature (her father was also an author) and a deeply generous heart. She dedicated much of her personal time to lifting up and working alongside women striving to overcome life’s obstacles. Christy believed in resilience because she lived it.
We extend our deepest condolences to her family, including her loved ones in the region, and hold her memory close in our hearts.
Baamaapii dear friend, you will be missed!
