Independent Indigenous publisher Kegedonce Press is seeking a part-time Marketing Coordinator and Publication Assistant. The position involves promoting books via social and traditional media, building promotional campaigns, tracking marketing budgets, organizing promotional events, writing press releases and contacting media, and drafting and tracking publication schedules, in addition to other marketing and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

  • Excellent English-language and communications skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Facility with Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe PDF
  • Familiarity with marketing on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other social media platforms
  • Some facility with WordPress
  • Some facility with simple graphic design program (e.g. Canva)
  • Experience in the publishing industry a strong advantage
  • Familiarity with Indigenous history, language, literatures and experience a strong advantage

This is a part-time freelance position, approximately 15 hours per week, to work remotely.

Kegedonce Press is based at Neyaashiinigmiing (Cape Croker) and Owen Sound, Ontario.
